Meenoo’s reopened its main Rakiraki store with more people employed.

The rebuilt store cost more than $1.5 million.

They rebuilt it while they operated from another location.

It took them five years to rebuild the shop while it was at a temporary location.

Shop manager Rizwan Mohammed said he was happy that this investment provided more employment.

“We have had to hire more staff members for the team. The last shop was small but this one is huge, and we needed more hands.

“We now have 18 employees.” Mr Mohammed added that before a lot of people had to travel to Ba, Lautoka, Nadi and Suva to get better choices of homeware and clothing.

He now hopes that they save that money and use it at the Rakiraki store.

About The Store
The Meenoo’s Rakiraki store is a double storey building and offers a variety of choices from baby clothes and supplies to ceremonial outfitsand quality fabrics.

“It is offered at a very affordable price.”

“We encourage the people of Rakiraki to spend their money here as this helps the little town’s economy,” said the shop manager of five years.

Mr Mohammed said they have not sent any staff members home and are fortunate that Rakiraki has not felt the severity of the pandemic like the other towns and cities.

He is asking although the situation is more laxed that customers be vigilant and wear a mask and have the careFIJI App turned on.

“We cannot take risks and we must all do our part and follow the directions given by the relevant authorities.”
