Let’s Go Local: VOU Hub Centre For A Real Cultural Experience
Sevuloni Lule and Dancers from the Vou Dance Company.

Meet Sevuloni Lule.

More intimately known as Sevu, Mr Lule has hands of surreal creativity.

A full-time dancer, choreographer, and costume manager under VOU Dance Fiji, he currently resides. in Shenzhen, China, under a dance contract with the company.

“It’s been a little over two years now,” he said.

“I am the team leader here and I look after the dancers, as well as the choreography and supervise the costume department.

Mr Lule said he has been in the industry for over five years.

What Are Some Of Your Hobbies?
I would like to say something cool but all I do is think of choreography and costumes.

I like to spend my time doing little research on what to create for future projects in my spare time but I guess I like meeting up with my close friends for outdoor activities sometimes.

I like reading too – cannot stop learning.

How Many Places In Fiji Have You Been To?
I would like to say about 10 different places, spread out across Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, the Lomaiviti group, Kadavu and the Yasawas.

What Is The One Spot In Fiji You Would Take Every Visitor To?
That’s easy, I would take them to the VOU Hub Centre near Denarau in Nadi.

For a real experience of our cultural heritage with a twist of modern contemporary styles, this is where I would take a friend.

I didn’t have the opportunity to get to watch the shows there because of my moving here to China but I know for a fact that it is a magical place to be, at this point in time.

Their shows at the center are interactive – world class, and you get to meet the dancers and enjoy some awesome food and drinks, all at the same time.

It is the perfect place to experience your first time here and it is also super close to some beautiful beach side resorts, if you’re thinking of staying over.

What Is Your Favourite Place In Fiji For A Pie/Coffee?
I think in Nadi, I would highly recommend The Muffin Shack, great service and pastries to die for and if I was Suva, you can’t go wrong with the ROC Cafe.

Absolutely brilliant service and choices for your daily shot.

What Is Your Secret Favourite Backyard Spot?
That’s a hard one. I guess if you mean, like a cafe or restaurant, with a cool backyard feel, I would say, any beachside cafe or bar in Nadi, or the Coral Coast.

Eco Cafe on the Coral Coast or Backpackers in Nadi are amazing too.

What Is The One Spot In Fiji On The Top Of Your Bucket List?
Taveuni definitely.

I’ve had family and friends who have been there, and they fully recommend it.

I think I would enjoy the natural beauty of this island more than anything.
