500 Surgical Masks For Nawaka Frontliners

Five hundred certified surgical masks donated to the Nawaka Crime Prevention Committees will help support the COVID-19 fight.
This is what the director of Al- Hamd Smart Living in Nadi, Ashfaaq Ahmad Khan said after donating 500 surgical face masks to leaders of the twelve sub-clans (liuliu ni Tokatoka) of Nawaka on Tuesday.
The various sub-clans are from the villages of Nawaka, Vatutu, Mulomulo, Yavuna and Tubenasolo. The leaders of these individual tribes were all members of the Crime Prevention Committees.
The donation of the masks took place under the watch of Police officer, Sergeant Penijamini Vukivou, who looks after the Crime Prevention Committees in the Nadi Rural areas.
Mr Khan said the face masks donated would help combat COVID-19 and would protect the frontliners and the villagers. He said the three-layered certified surgical masks were airfreighted.
“The core principle of Team Al Hamd is to develop a passion to serve mankind and promote the welfare of society,” he said.
“We regard ourselves as a member of the local community, and we firmly believe unity will help us win the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Meanwhile, president of the Nawaka CPC, Mataiasi Nabau, said this assistance would help boost his committees to be fully alert and ensure the safety of their communities during this pandemic.
