The screening conducted at Narewa Village in Nadi was vital for all villagers.

This is what village headman, Samu Tuidraki, said after the screening team visited their village yesterday.

Mr Tuidraki said due to the spread of COVID-19 in Nadi, it was important for villagers to allow the screening team to conduct their duties door-to-door.

“This virus has been spreading to other places around here Nadi. I believe the screening conducted by the team is vital for the safety of everyone in this village,” he said.

“Even though we might say that the virus may not spread here, we don’t know the places that people went out visit in the last few days,” he said.

He said he had been urging villagers to follow every strict protocol set by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services. He also confirmed that the screening team had conducted door-to-door screening at Yavusania, Sikituru, Narewa, Namotomoto, Navoci, Nakavu, Saunaka.
