The transmission of the COVID-19 virus in Ra still remains a mystery as no link has been established to the other 47 active cases.
Currently two main leads are being pursued.
“One is that the cases are related directly to the quarantine facility breach. Two, that these cases may be rippling out from an individual in Ra who attended the funeral in Takukubu,” said Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services Dr James Fong.
“If you are this person, or you know this person, please contact the Ministry at 158.”
Results from Melbourne will confirm a genetic link to other local cases in Fiji.
