Late Camillo Remembered
The late Joseph Camillo.

The late Joseph Camillo was a true professional, hardworking, and efficient.

This was the sentiment shared by University of Fiji Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Shaista Shameem and former Director of the Fiji Human Rights Commission Shaista Shameem.

She while paying tribute to colleague and Human Rights Defender Joseph Camillo yesterday.

Mr Camillo died on Sunday at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital after a long battle with heart disease.

He had joined the Fiji Human Rights Commission (now Fiji Human Rights and Anti-discrimination Commission) in the Complaints Section as Manager Complaints in 2000.

He joined under the leadership of Ms Shameem.

Ms Shameem said he was excellent in his role as he worked well under pressure and was a dedicated recorder of complaints.
