Amazing Fijian: Katarina Delivers Farm Produce to Struggling Families

Katarina Baleisuva is another amazing Fijian doing good for others and not expecting anything in return.
On Monday, the owner of Kaybee Farm in Nakasi, loaded her vehicle with cucumbers, long beans, and bele and distributed them to families living in Wainibuku and Nakasi Housing Assistance Relief Trust (HART).
She assisted 46 families in Wainibuku and 44 families in Nakasi.
“I did it because I just wanted to help out,” the mother of two said.
“I knocked on their gates and doors and started to give them out. Then I saw families lining up to receive the vegetables.
“One family had a bundle of bele, heap of cucumbers and a bundle of long beans.”
She said it became an emotional moment when the recipients thanked her for the kind gesture.
“In my farm I have cucumbers, beans, bele, cassava, ginger, dalo, vanilla and I also have a honeybee farm. I also have a tilapia pond,” she said.
“I didn’t demand any payment, I did it with a good heart willing to help.”

She said she always told her workers that her farm was one that would portray love not only to her families, but also to those who were in need.
In recent times, Ms Baleisuva would have delivered the fruits of her labour to her family members.
But given the crisis and uncertainty she gathered from struggling families, she decided to help those in need.
Ms Baleisuva owns a five-acre farm.
