Have you ever wanted to dive at the Black Magic Mountain and Mellow Yellow in the Vatu-i-Ra passage?

Well Pola Pangalau, the senior diving instructor will love to take you underwater provided you know how to dive.

Mr Pangalau is a senior diver at Ra Divers the diving arm of Volivoli Beach Resort located near Rakiraki on the Suncoast.

He loves meeting customers first thing in the morning with a great big BULA!.

Mr Pangalau was born in Kioa Island and moved to Ra in 1995 which he now calls home with family.

“I love seeing everyone smile with what they see underwater, it really is a magical place.

“My favourite dive sites are Black Magic Mountain and Mellow Yellow in Vatu-i-Ra.

“If I’m teaching we always do a recap on yesterday’s activities and then review the day ahead in order to ensure the best fun and value while keeping everyone safe.

“Volivoli Beach Resort is located near Rakiraki on the Suncoast, Viti Levu’s most northern tip, it is a family owned and operated business. Whilst we have a large range of other activities, both land and water, we are known around the world’s diving community as Fiji’s Premier Dive Resort and were recently awarded the 3rd Best Dive Resort on the Planet.”

What’s one place you’d take every visitor to Fiji and why? 

Bligh Water in the Vatu-i-Ra Passage as it is truly a magical place and the marine life is unmatched from anything else I know.

What’s your secret backyard favourite spot? 

I love playing volleyball on Nananu-i-Ra Island.

What’s your favourite place in Fiji for a pie/coffee? 

Port Denarau as I love to watch the tourists and the hustle and bustle.

What’s one Fiji spot on top of your bucket list? 

Lau group of islands.
