A group of friends from different backgrounds have come together to help those in need whose employment was affected by the lockdowns and containments.

Yesterday, they distributed food packs to families in need in Newtown, Khalsa, Caubati, Nadawa, Wailea settlement and an orphanage.

Group spokesperson Mohammed Saiyaz Khan said they wanted to help those that needed food packs.

“The food pack consists of basic food items. Friends, families in Fiji and abroad have come together and given whatever we could to help those that really need it,” Mr Khan said.

“We did our assessment and selected who really needed the food packs.

“Eid is around the corner, so we wanted to do something for Fijians who are facing difficulties at this time.

“We have about 70 food packs which would help families that are in dire need of food.”
