Stay home in your family bubble or the Fiji Police Force will find you an accommodation for the lockdown in the Suva Nausori zone.

That is the message from the Acting Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu as the operation for the 92-hour lockdown began from 11 last night.

“Stay in your bubble or we will burst your bubble,” he said. Mr Tudravu said it was sad to see people not adhering to the simple rule that could save the nation.

He said in the past month since the COVID-19 crackdown began 743 people have been arrested and most have been for social gathering.

He said Police would be using all the resources they have during this lockdown which includes foot and vehicle patrol beefed up by the use of drones.

According to the Ministry of Health, people are to stay within their homes because the virus moves with people.

Mr Tuidravu said they will be emphasis on settlements where people have been known to move around from house to house Makoi which is the current hotspot for COVID-19 transmission will also be looked at.

He said Police officers have their arrest protocols because their safety would be on the line as well. He said in a 12-hour operation there were a thousand personnel at work.
