Lautoka Hospital continues to operate as a COVID-19 hospital with 317 staff and 207 patients in isolation.

Chief Medical Advisor Dr Jemesa Tudravu said the screening continued at the hospital and no new cases had been recorded.

Out of the 207 patients isolated at the hospital, there are 51 mothers and 46 babies.

Dr Tudravu said the number of stationary screening clinics had been reduced to 55.

In the last 24 hours since Thursday 5121 people had been screened and 556 people swabbed.

The mobile community screening clinics have carried out 25,152 screenings where 1205 people were swabbed. So far 413,678 people had been screened and 12,050 swabbed.

Currently there are 86 people at three community isolation facilities around Fiji.

Dr Tudravu is reminding the public that the facilities are out of bounds as there are positive cases isolated there.

“This weekend is about focusing on our home bubbles. We are requesting families to make every effort to protect your home bubbles by not allowing others to come in,”

Dr Tudravu said. “Teach younger members of the families on what a bubble means and who should be in your home bubble.”
