Our national airline, Fiji Airways flew in another 10,000 doses of Australian manufactured COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccines on Friday night.

This is part of Australia’s ongoing support to the Fijian Government and the Ministry of Health and Medical Services during the country’s second wave of COVID-19.

Australian High Commissioner to Fiji John Feakes said he was pleased to make the announcement of the second delivery of vaccines to further assist our COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

“Australia continues to stand with the Fijian Government through this ongoing challenge and support their efforts. Team Fiji, vuvale, together we can.”

Australian Border Force, Regional Borders Training Officer (Pacific), Michael Chandrasegaran, handed over the consignment to senior health officer Luisa Tigarea at the Nadi International Airport.

The first shipment of 10,000 Australian manufactured COVID-19 AstraZeneca vaccines had arrived on May 6, 2021.
