Tasprit Singh and Rahul Krishneel Menon, along with three others were charged for failure to comply with lawful order.

Two Nadi men who appeared at the Magistrates Court in Lautoka on Friday told the magistrate that they crossed the Lomolomo border in Lautoka to pass over groceries to their family.

Tasprit Singh and Rahul Krishneel Menon, along with three others were charged for failure to comply with lawful order.

They appeared before Magistrate Nayani Kasturiratne.

It is alleged that the pair had crossed the border into Lautoka’s containment area on Thursday.

State prosecutor, Sergeant Julie Tuwai told the court that despite being warned by the Police officers at the border, they found another way to get into the containment area.

Singh told Magistrate Kasturiratne that his family who was in Lautoka needed the groceries.

They both would seek assistance from the Legal Aid Commission.

They were granted bail on strict bail conditions.

Magistrate Kasturiratne ordered that the pair would need to reside in Lautoka before moving back to Nadi once the border opens.

The case was adjourned to June 29 for mention.
