Khan Leads Team To Assist 25 Families

The director of Al-Hamd Smart Living, Ashfaaq Khan is leading his team in assisting those who continue to struggle to provide for their families.
Mr Khan who is also the president of the M.A Khan Community in Nawaka, Nadi and the crime prevention committee provided basic food items to at least 25 families on Wednesday.
While sitting with the community members they shared how COVID-19 continued to disrupt their lives.
He said it was a sad situation for most of the families as many of them were employed in the tourism industry.
“That was what actually motivated me to do something for them,” said Mr Khan.
“I noticed we have a lot of youths who worked in the tourism industry. At the moment, they have not had work since September and now as the situation continues, they are mentally disturbed as they have families to support.
“We will be offering them food on an ongoing basis.”
Mr Khan added there was also a large number of widows and elderly within the community.
“Fulfilling rights of others is the act of making a sacrifice for societal harmony. A society in which rights of each other are fulfilled and are fulfilled by making sacrifices is truly a paradise-like society.”
He said that the recipients were appreciative of their food rations.
