ATK Mohun Bagan football captain, Roy Krishna, is confident of chasing his dream to become the first Fijian to play in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Cup.

Previously, the AFC Cup play-off was scheduled for the Maldives early this month, but was postponed due to the breach of COVID-19 protocols by the Bengaluru FC.

The AFC released new dates for the competition with the venue yet to be confirmed.

“The matches have been rescheduled but I’m still not sure if I can travel as the venue has not been confirmed yet,” said Krishna.

He is keeping his fingers crossed and hope to be given a time frame to depart the country and join his club in India as they prepare for the tournament.

“I also need the Ministry of Health to approve my travel.

“The last time we applied to travel we didn’t get any response from the ministry, so hopefully this time we’ll get a response and I’ll able to travel,” he added.
