Tourism Fiji has welcomed another eight operators that can open business under Care Fiji Commitment conditions.

Tourism Fiji chief operations officer James Pridgeon said Taveuni recorded the largest percentage of registrations and approved businesses based on the number of tourism businesses in the region.

He said the surge was related to the Government requirement for businesses to have their COVID-19 Action Plans in place to operate.

Mr Pridgeon said 243 nominated Wellness Ambassadors were received.

Of the sum, 206 accessed the training programme for the Care Fiji Commitment, he said.

Another 145 companies submitted their action plan, of which 142 were approved, Mr Pridgeon said.

He said a document of approval was sent to 134 businesses.

The businesses can upload the document as proof of their Care Fiji Commitment approval.

“These will be sent out every Wednesday, once the team has met to review submitted plans,” Mr Pridgeon said.
