200 Families Assisted Through Youth Group

About 200 families in New Town, Nanuku, Viria, Bryce Road in Raiwaqa, Nabua, Cunnigham and Delainabua settlements received their food rations from a youth group this week.
FaithBrothers is a group of nine youths from Nukubuco Settlement in Khalsa Road, New Town who came together to help those that are affected by COVID-19.
The group was formed last year when COVID-19 first hit Fiji.
FaithBrothers leader Uluiqalau Vosalave thanked everyone who had helped them prepare the food ration.
Mr Vosalave said they recently received a ration delivery from Dickson Peng who saw the work they when they sent him video and pictures of their work.
“We made about 200 food rations which we distributed to families across Tacirua and settlements who really needed them,” Mr Vosalave said.
He said they also used their own funds to purchase rice and sugar to complete the rations.
“We distributed 70 food rations the first time and to be able to distribute about 200 food rations the second time especially during the second wave of COVID-19 means a lot to us”.
He said they were always ready to help businesses that would like to distribute food rations.
“We also encourage businesses and business owners if they looking for trustworthy people to do delivery for them we are here 24/7 or any work available in your house, farm or business to be completed we are here to for work to help our community since most of the projects are yet to be completed ahead of us,” Mr Vosalave said.
“The group always works within the community and they give anything to help the groups, and this is where we get our funds from to help the community as a whole.
“We work to get more help and putting food rations together before we distribute them.”
