COVID-19: Momi, Nadi Border Open Today
New regulations for on the spot fines will come into force next week to ensure strict adherence to the public health measures.

The Momi border at the Nadi end and the Nacilau border at the Lautoka end will be eliminated today at 4.00am, June 05, 2021.
This was announced by Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama last Sunday.
However, the following public health measures remain in place and will be enforced:
1. Fijians in all containment and non-containment areas must adhere to COVID safe measures such as masking, social distancing, and correct hand hygiene practice.
2. Travel movement must be limited; funeral gatherings are restricted to 10 people or less; no mass gathering is allowed; places of worship will remain closed.
3. The lockdown area in Nawaka remains, and no one is allowed to enter or leave this area.
4. The Lami-Nausori containment zone remains and restrictions on movement and gatherings currently in place within this zone also remain in force. All targeted lockdown areas in this zone remain in place.
5. There will be ongoing escalation of community surveillance in areas outside the containment and lockdown areas to facilitate the early identification of cases. New targeted lockdown areas will be established as and when required.
6. Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Tourism protocols will need to be adhered to before businesses can operate.
7. The vaccination program in the Nadi/Lautoka area and other parts of Fiji will continue and all citizens must get vaccinated as soon as possible.
