Apakuki Tavodi is going to captain the Kaiviti Silktails as they take on Glebe Dirty Reds in Round 13 of the Ron Massey Cup competition at Henson Park, Sydney, on Saturday.

The performance of the powerful front row has caught the eyes of Vodafone Fijian Bati head coach Josaia Rabele.

Tavodi is part of the Bati’s extended squad for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup in England towards the end of the year.

“I’m humbled by the fact that the Bati head coach has recognised my efforts so far,” he said.

“I’ve had to sacrifice tremendously by balancing footy and studies back in Fiji to make the Silktails squad.”

Tavodi said he still has a lot of work to do to better his game and he is 100 per cent committed to the task at hand.

“I’m thankful to the Silktails management from whom I’ve learnt so much for my game development and off the field character building.” The match against Glebe Dirty kicks-off at 2.30pm (Fiji time)
