Tough action will be taken on those who put up hate speeches that could lead to abhorrence amongst members of the community.

This warning from Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu comes after a post that has gone viral on social media with words that could incite hatred and fear amongst members of the Public.

‘Many people that are posting, commenting, sharing and supporting such hate posts showed they were not fully aware of what the consequences are and I’m advising the public not to be carried away by such information”

Acting Commissioner Tudravu is urging the public to refrain from such action and will not allow this type of hate speech and rhetoric to continue.

Those involved will be investigated, he said.

“While we are in a situation that needs everyone’s support, the rhetoric will not assist but will make things more difficult as we try to battle this pandemic.

“Please continue to adhere to the health restrictions and orders, stay at home and enjoy with your loved ones.”

Let’s work together for the betterment of this country.
