Government Backs Al Hamd Community Efforts

Minister for Agriculture Mahendra Reddy’s providing of seedlings to a Nadi community has been described as timely.
Residents of MA Khan Road of Nawaka received the 50 seed packs through Ashfaaq Khan, the managing director of Al Hamd Smart Living of Nadi.
“The seed donations from Mr Reddy was timely and this will greatly help the community with their own backyard gardens,” he said.

“We are indeed very thankful to the Ministry of Agriculture for their instant response and assistance in these hard times.
He said during these times, the movement of people was restricted and this was the best opportune time for those at home who did not have a backyard garden to get it going.
“It will ease a lot of burden from their minds, also help a lot of them mentally and will definitely bring smiles to their worried faces,” Mr Khan said.

Mr Khan has been instrumental in major community activities around the area. He included the provision of street lights to curb crime in the area.
His company has been distributing food rations to people impacted by the pandemic in the Nawaka.
He also assisted frontline workers, including the Fiji Police Force with masks.
