Cyber Food has expanded its operations into Lautoka yesterday.

The online food delivery company founder Majid Shahzad said the decision was made because of rising requests for the delivery services to be available in Lautoka.

“We already had plans to expand to Lautoka, and we were just waiting for the right time,” he said.

“Especially with the movement restrictions because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this gives a good opportunity for restaurants to increase their sales, customers to get their favourite meals and Cyber Food to continue employing people.”

Mr Shahzad described it as a win-win situation.

“We are expecting at least 10 restaurants to join the service by the end of the week.”

He said two of Lautoka’s main restaurants; Indiana and Lunchbox have already partnered and featured on Cyber Food’s online portal.

“Even if restaurants are not featured on our online platform, Cyber Food will remain flexible and continue to deliver food from them to our customers.

“We do encourage restaurants in Lautoka to come on board with Cyber Food to be featured on our website.

“Featured restaurants are given online space to show their menus which would give the customers a clear idea on what to order.”

Mr Shahzad said there were no subscription fees, customers need to access Cyber Food’s online portal.

“Delivery fees are really affordable.

“Interested customers can find us online and on Facebook,” he said.

Cyber Food delivery services can be accessed on https://cyberfood.com.fj/.

Employment

Mr Shahzad said there were two delivery staff members/riders employed for the Lautoka area.

“Both these riders are private car owners, so this helps them gain revenue from the comfort of their homes.”

Entrepreneur Zunaid Khan, popularly known by his alias Fit Chef, is one of the riders.

His food delivery service, also known as Fit Chef, can also be accessed through Cyber Food’s online portal.

Mr Khan said: “This is a good opportunity to expand my small business.

“It feels great to be working with a renowned brand like Cyber Food.”

Mr Shahzad said Cyber Food was committed to retain its employees.

“We have two more riders in Nadi and 11 in Suva.”

For the economy

Mr Shahzad said Cyber Food would also offer free consultancy sessions to restaurants in terms of marketing.

“We will offer consultations on how to boost sales, presentation and other core marketing strategies,” he said.

He said it was his way of giving back to the economy from what he had learned about marketing through international agencies.
