Expectant mother, Mereseini Mocekavaca, has praised the timely action of Police officers who responded to her call for help last Saturday night.

A team of Police officers from the Police media cell, were on patrol in Narere, Nasinu.

They came across a man who sought help around 10.30pm for his six-month pregnant sister experiencing severe abdominal pains.

Ms Mocekavaca, 19, of the Narere containment area said her family made several calls to the Ministry of Health and Medical Services as well as National Fire Authority but to no avail.

Wasting no time, her brother ran to the Police officers and sought their assistance.

Ms Mocekavaca said: “The Police officers assisted us, sanitised my hands and boarded me on the Police vehicle.

“I am very thankful to the officers for assisting me because the pain was becoming unbearable.”
