Top French Coach For Drua?

A French Top 14 winning coach could be the Fijian Drua head coach for the 2022 Super Rugby season.
According to Midi Olympique, ASM Clermont Auvergne head coach, Franck Azema, has been approached to take up the job.
Azema will be leaving for Clermont at the end of the season even though his contract has not expired.
French media reports indicate that he is leaving for personal reasons.
Azema has been with Clermont for 11 seasons– serving first as an assistant coach to Vern Cotter before taking over the reins in 2014.
Cotter is now the Flying Fijians head coach.
“While he had two years of contract left, Franck Azema chose to give it up by asking to be released from his commitment at the end of this season,” the club said in a statement.
Under Azema’s mentorship, Clermont fared well, winning their second French championship title in 2017 and reaching two other finals.
Another media report indicate that Montpellier has been after him as well.
In an earlier interview, the Fiji Rugby Union indicated that the Drua head coach must work together with Cotter.
Azema, was earlier linked to the Flying Fijians head coach’s job after John McKee’s contract was not renewed.
With Clermont he worked with Fijian players like Peceli Yato, Peni Ravai, Tavite Veredamu, Apisai Naqalevu and Alivereti Raka.
Cotter and Azema’s combination and experience will have a huge impact on the structural and organisation of the Drua and Flying Fijians training environment.
