Vehicle Accident with an EFL Power Pole Causes Power Disruption – Fletcher Road, Vatuwaqa

There was an unplanned power outage around 9:15am today, Wednesday 16th June, 2021 due to a vehicle colliding with an EFL power pole near the Vatuwaqa Cemetery along Fletcher Road, Suva.
This caused a power disruption to our valued customers in the surrounding areas.
Customers in the following areas are affected by this unplanned power outage:
Part of Fletcher Road from the Vatuwaqa Bridge to Nacara Street junction including whole of Toa Street and side roads.
Teams were dispatched immediately to attend to this fault.
Repair works are underway, and are anticipated to be completed later this evening.
EFL kindly requests drivers and machine operators to exercise caution while driving and maneuvering vehicles to avoid causing damages to EFL assets resulting in power disruptions.
EFL would also like to advise the public that we will take appropriate action to recover repair costs associated with damages to our assets, as well as report the same to relevant authorities (Police, Labour Department, etc.) for them to investigate and take appropriate action.
The EFL sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused to all our valued customers affected by this unplanned power outage, which was beyond our control.
