McDonald’s lovers in Nadi can now enjoy their favourite meal at their doorstep through Fiji Eats’ delivery services.

The popular restaurant chain launched a partnership, McDelivery with the locally owned delivery service yesterday.

McDonald’s Fiji managing director, Marc McElrath, said the launched partnership delivery service would be on trial basis in the next few weeks in Nadi.

What it means
He said with success they would expand the service to other areas where they are present.

“Fiji Eats is the first food delivery provider McDonald’s Fiji is working with,” he said.

“This partnership will be a full time service across the country in the near future.

“Home delivery during the pandemic is a safe way to enjoy McDonald’s in your own home,” he said.

Mr McElrath said McDonald’s was planning to grow the home delivery business and look at better ways to bring McDonald’s to the people in a safe and efficient way.

Director of Fiji Eats, Shanil Chandra highlighted getting the world renowned restaurant franchise was a big win for the delivery company.

“McDonald’s has been the most requested restaurant, so we are super excited to have an option for customers they are also excited by,” he said.

“We want our customers to know that we are always listening to their feedback.”

“Being able to meet their international standard requirements demonstrates Fiji Eats’ level of service.”

He said McDonald’s was live and open to orders on the Fiji Eats application and website from 10.30 am to 5:45 pm seven days a week.

“Once we have their breakfast menu on our application and website, they will start taking orders from an earlier time.”

Mr Chandra said Fiji Eats served in Lautoka, Nadi and the greater Suva area.

“Currently we only have the McDonald’s Nadi restaurant on our platform to streamline the processes before we onboard the other outlets.”

“We are confident that the restaurants will be on our platform in no time.”

Fiji Eats delivery services can be accessed on https://fijieats.com/ and can be downloaded through Google Play Store by the same name.

In light of COVID-19
“Our entire operations and all our partnerships are quite significant,” Mr Chandra said.

“We are able to provide a safe option for our customers to enjoy restaurant food and at the same time we provide jobs and support the livelihood of all our delivery partners and employees.”

He said Fiji Eats was pleased to be able to support restaurants by providing them with an additional channel for revenue.

Plans of expansion
“Currently, we are focusing on the existing areas we are already in,” Mr Chandra said, “Short term goals are to increase the range of restaurants in the areas we are already operating.”

“And also ensuring we have the network to support a large number of orders while maintaining quality service.”
“Definitely, we do have medium term goals to expand and ideally we want to be in all the major towns in Fiji, including Vanua Levu,” he said.
