Iowani Tabu, whose eight-year-old son was bumped by an SUV in Labasa Town on Saturday, was thankful that Iowane was alive.
The 53-year-old yaqona farmer said he had sent his son to buy Panadol from the market canteen.
The boy made an attempt to cross the road when the incident happened.
He was rushed to the hospital and was in a stable condition.
Mr Tabu said he was very worried and scared when he saw his son’s face covered with blood.
Police spokesperson Savaira Tabua confirmed the incident as investigations continue.
