When Namoli Village is safe from COVID-19, we know that we are contributing to the safety of Lautoka City too.

That’s the sentiment of headman, Isikeli Nava, who said the villagers had placed stringent measures for its community by having 12 checkpoints at every entry with monitors.

“We want to protect Lautoka because it is our town and our land,” he said.

“Everybody walking around the village must have a mask on and we will continue with this until COVID-19 has gone away from Fiji, not only in one place in Fiji but disappeared from the whole of Fiji.

“This is my own idea and my target is to not have a positive case of COVID-19 in the village and we also don’t want a lockdown in Lautoka.”

There are 256 families currently at Namoli Village.
