The largest locally owned and managed Tanoa Hotel Group marked another milestone during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tanoa International Hotel in Nadi had been a quarantine facility from day one and the management not only made sure that its staff here got vaccinated, but also those in the six hotels around the country.

Area general manager Fiji Narend Kumar said yesterday: “All staff currently working for Tanoa Hotel Group are now fully vaccinated, that is, they have received both the jabs.”

“We did not stop there but took a leading role to assist the families of our hotel staff to get vaccinated at the earliest and eighty per cent have received their first jab if not both,” Mr Narend said.

He encouraged Fijians to get vaccinated at the earliest and assist each other for it is the only way forward for life to return to normal.

Group human resources manager Sharol Kumar Vere said, “The core principles of Tanoa Hotel are based on family values.

“Business decisions affect not only the staff but their families too and we understand our staff wellbeing is entwined to their families at home. This initiative is to make life easier for our people and is another demonstration of the Tanoa Way at its best.”

Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association chief executive officer, Fantasha Lockington praised Tanoa Hotel Group for being one of the first hotelier to have its workforce fully vaccinated.

Ms Lockington said, “We are delighted to hear that the Tanoa Group has managed this vaccination milestone and have been earnestly pushing and supporting our tourism members to continue to work towards a fully vaccinated workforce.

“Apart from ensuring we are protecting our staff, we must also protect our customers, and getting everyone vaccinated will mean we get our borders reopened sooner.”
