‘Jimbo’s Ice Cream Cart, A Place To Be’

It is hard for anyone driving pass Pacific Harbour not to notice a colourful Jimbo’s ice cream cart parked on the road side near Arts village.
A loud greeting voice, “Bula, would you like to try our ice cream special” makes every customer feel the five-star treatment on the roadside.
Owner, Emma Levaci said they started the business after importing the electric cart from China in September last year.
“We wanted to have a family owned business after moving to Pacific Harbour and having a ice cream cart was a good way to start with, she said.
“Like many businesses, we were also not spared by the second phase of COVID-19, but I am glad we were allowed to reopen earlier this month under safe COVID-19 measures.
She added, their business has seen a 30-40 per cent decline following its re-opening however they managed to maintain their two staff.
Apete Vereivalu, one of the two full time operators of the cart said, he was lucky to secure a job at the cart after losing his hotel employment as a tourist boat operator last year due to the pandemic.
“It didn’t take long to be called the ice cream man among the children and some parents within the Pacific Harbour community.
While sit and eat service is currently suspended due to COVID restrictions, the cart still offers takeaways of milkshakes, single and double cones, cup-of-joy and cart special three scoops in tub daily.
Surely, if you crave for ice cream while traveling along Queens highway past Pacific Harbour, Jimbo’s Ice Cream cart is a place to stop by.
