More than 40 food packs were donated to the residents of Nakolia Settlement in Nawaka, Nadi.

Director of Al-Hamd Smart Living, Ashfaaq Ahmad Khan who lives in the area received the ration provided by Auckland International Church of New Zealand and was handed over by the Fiji based church president and JPT Enterprises Company Director, Paul Kim.

Mr Khan said the timely food rations brought smiles to the residents.

The food packs contained flour, rice, milk and biscuit among other basic food items.

Mr Khan said despite they were not listed in the containment area, families have been affected by the road restriction access.

“This area is not locked down but our main road is being closed and our access to town has been restricted. There is also a road diversion that we have but we don’t have any bus services now as before,” he said.

He acknowledged company director, Paul Kim for their timely donations.

Mr Kim said the church was happy to assist and provided for those in need and would continue to do so during these difficult times.

He said the international church branches would also be providing more face masks for people in the containment areas.
