Make A Difference Fiji Assists Thousands Of Fijians

What started in 2017 from paying the medical bill of a cancer patient’s overseas treatment and building houses for evicted families has now become a NGO’s motive to continue reaching out to those in need.
Make a Difference Fiji, a brain child of a young individual from Pacific Harbour with intentions to assist the underprivileged with medical treatment, housing and food ration has now spread their helping hand to Fijians all over Fiji.
Founder and President, Renu Snowsill assisted by group Vice President Tulia Qovuna and group members have successfully completed four housing projects for families affected during tropical cyclone Harold and a family of five evicted in Sigatoka.
Ms Snowsill said Make a Difference Fiji assisted thousands of people around the country during the COVID-19 phase one last year.
730 families were assisted with food rations since May this year.
“Through our kind local and overseas donors and fund raising we manage to assist 582 school students beginning of the year and hundreds of ladies were helped with sanitary items”,said Ms. Snowsill.
The NGO is also working with Serua and Namosi Provincial Administrator’s Office to provide food assistance to those in isolation.
Vice President Tulia Qovuna said they crossed check the authenticity of the requests but some did manage to double dip at times.
“We receive hundreds of requests for food ration on our social media page daily from all over Fiji and we try to facilitate this through our available resources,” Ms. Qovuna said.
They thanked all supporters, volunteers and donors for joing in the fight to provide for hundreds of families affected by the pandemic.
