Vaccinate, Help Fiji, Anti-Vaxxers Urged

Retired Doctor (Pediatrician) Dr Lisi Tikoduadua is pleading with Anti-Vaxxers to reconsider their position and get vaccinated to help the country.
While speaking in a video recorded interview, she urged Fijians to set aside their different beliefs and to pray in good faith.
“One of the best ways that we could help our country is to get vaccinated,” Dr Tikoduadua said.
“I really feel for the people in Health. All of them, doctors, nurses, those who work in the labs, those who work in the hospitals, ward assistants, maids, and orderlies, because their work especially now is very risky.”
“They are already low in numbers and with what’s happening right now in Fiji it has really put a strain on them.
“It is not only COVID-19 that our children and people of Fiji are facing. There are already existing health conditions in Fiji and then there are those with COVID-19. It is a virus, it spreads quickly.”
She acknowledged the hard work of all frontline workers who have left the comforts of their homes to be engaged in the COVID-19 operation.
“You have left your families to work in another place, you come and stay and bear quarantine conditions and isolation. You are tested every week. I am amazed and I thank God for protecting the army of medical professionals in the Ministry of Health,” she said.
“This is a very difficult time that we are going through. There is no one else that can really feel the struggle of what we are facing like those in the health sector.”
