Seven In BSP Test Positive, Branches Open After Decontamination

Five staff of BSP Financial Group Limited (BSP) tested positive leading to the closure of two branches the whole of last week, confirmed Country Head, Haroon Ali.
The branches in Suva and Nausori have since been decontaminated and are now open for business following approval from the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.
Initially four of the Nausori branch staff tested positive, said BSP Country Head Haroon Ali said.
All Nausori staff were stood down and sent into home isolation.
“We sent a team from Suva to keep the Nausori branch operational. Regretfully, one of the staff that went to Nausori branch was a primary contact of a positive case in Suva Central. Therefore, we had little choice but to stand down that team in Nausori as well,” Mr Ali said.
“Due to a positive case at Suva Central branch, we have had to shut down the Suva Central branch as well for decontamination and clearance from MoH.
“Both branches are back online with the Nausori branch now providing limited services with only seven staff.”
Mr Ali is in isolation at home himself after being identified as a primary contact of a colleague who tested positive for COVID-19.
His first test came out negative and his second test is today.
Mr Ali said BSP Fiji’s executives and other critical staff including those in IT had the capacity to work from home allowing their business to continue.
