Tokyo Olympic 2021: Our Athletes Tested In Oita

The Team Fiji contingent was grateful of the support by the staff of the Fijian Embassy in Japan.

Leading the charge is Fiji’s Ambassador to Japan, Isikeli Mataitoga and First Secretary Kelera Savu.

The Team Fiji contingent arrived safely at Oita, where they spent half of the day undergoing swab tests.

Savu met Team Fiji at Haneda Airport on Friday to ensure they are connected to their flight to Oita City.

According to the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee, the Fijian embassy staff played a key role in the negotiations with the host city of Oita for the pre- Games training camp.

At the moment Team Fiji chef de mission Patrick Bower and general manager, Wayne O’Connor, are in the Olympic Games Village to prepare in receiving the athletes and officials when they start travelling up from Oita to compete in their respective events.
