Smart Phone Distribution for FPCL staff members.

Fiji Ports Corporation Limited has ensured and adhered to all Ministry of Health (MoH) and Ministry of Commerce Trade, Tourism and Transport (MCTTT) COVID19 safety measures and requirements in helping Fiji in the fight against COVID-19 by registering and displaying the FPCL unique digital geo-identification indicator on all FPCL premises.

The updated CareFiji app includes QR code-based Check- in feature that allows all staff and stakeholders to scan their smart phones before entering the FPCL premises.

However, some FPCL staff were not in possession of a smart phone device.

To be in full compliance with the MCTTT guidelines and to tackle this issue, FPCL purchased smart phones for their
staff.

As of February 2021, FPCL Human Capital Services (HSC) team underwent a project to identify employees that did not have smart phone devices that could use the CareFiji application.

As of June, FPCL HCS teams further identified and confirmed 37 FPCL staff (18 from Suva and 19 from Lautoka) who did not possess a smartphone device.

FPCL management devised a 50:50 cost sharing option to allow FPCL staff members to be able to purchase a smart phone device to avoid further future issues with regards to MCTTT regulations relating to the CareFiji app.

These FPCL staff members applied for the smartphone device, signed, and acknowledge consent forms to purchase the mobile phone with the required percentage of total cost to be recovered from their salary over time.

The form further covers that the mobile is the responsibility of the employee and ensure that the device maintenance is maintained. The smart phones will remain the property of FPCL
until the required cost to be borne by the staff is fully recovered and then becomes their own.

FPCL sourced Smart phones devices from reputable suppliers and installed the CareFiji app before distributing them to the requesting FPCL staff members.

FPCL Management has done its best to address issues arising in these challenging times, to be in full compliance with MoH contract tracing via the CareFiji app and MCTTT regulations for COVID-safe business operations. But also, to assist the staff at FPCL for their own safety in public areas outside of the workplace.

Staff at FPCL are very important and vital to the success of the whole overall operations and FPCL wish to ensure the staff are well taken care of.
