The PM Did Not Swear: Ra Chief

Stop creating rubbish posts says the paramount chief of Ra, the Gone Turaga Na Tui Nalawa, Ratu Epeli Niudamu.
He was referring to allegations by keyboard warriors that the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama swore at him and his people.
It was claimed that the Tui Nalawa was against the proposed amendment to the iTaukei Land Trust Act (Bill 17).
In fact, Ratu Epeli in an earlier report said Bill 17 gave landowners ‘voice again that cannot be pushed aside by the iTaukei Land Trust Board (iTLTB)’.
Mr Bainimarama shared the post on his official Facebook page on Wednesday with the caption: “Vinaka Ratu Epeli for sharing the truth!”
Ratu Epeli said: “The social media post is another example of how certain social media commentators are willing to fabricate information to advance their agendas.
“This post is a lie and the honourable Prime Minister never swore at me or my people.
“We are with him in this difficult moment that Fiji is going through and we know that certain people with hidden agendas are going around trying to gain support for their own agendas.”
Gone Turaga Na Tui Nasau
Also in support of the bill is the Gone Turaga Na Tui Nasau, Ratu Isoa Nayasikalou.
Ratu Isoa said: “This bill is just an administrative amendment to the act and does not deal with anything regarding the ownership of the iTaukei land.
“It creates a system of checks and balances to TLTB where they will be more transparent and accountable to land owning units.”
