Jone Waitaiti is driven by a love for the ocean.

Coral farmer and a diving instructor, Mr Waitaiti is also the founder for Fiji Sea Salt.

“I grew up in the south of Taveuni and worked as a dive guide before leaving for Germany in 2009,” he said.

“I used my time in Germany to become a dive instructor, free diving instructor and worked on a dive shop in Frankfurt and as a lifeguard.”

“In 2016 I returned to Fiji and started Dive Academy Fiji with my German business partner.

“Dive Academy Fiji and Viani Bay Resort is focused on marine conservation and supporting the locals.”

He said the two started the Cleanup Taveuni Campaign in 2018.

“I built a coral nursery in the bay and the locals agreed to make this area a local tabu zone.”

“Dive Academy Fiji offers scholarships for locals to learn diving and become dive professionals.”

“This all ties in together with Fiji Sea Salt.”

“I love the ocean, I care for the ocean.”

“A clean ocean is our basis for survival, the basis for healthy coral reefs and a prerequisite for making premium Fiji Sea Salt.”

Jone Waitaiti is the founder of Fiji Sea Salt.

What Is The One Place In Fiji You Would Take Every Visitor To, And Why?
Taveuni.

Taveuni is the most beautiful island in Fiji.

It has forest walks, waterfalls, beautiful white sandy beaches – a very green island.

You can farm almost anything.

It’s a volcanic island with high mountains.

It has the most beautiful reefs in Fiji for snorkelling and diving.

It can be easily considered the top five in the world.

What Is Your Favourite Secret Backyard Spot?
My vegetable garden.

I have all my herbs and spices I collected and planted in my garden.

It’s nice and organic.

It is a comfortable place for a break to meet friends.

They make everything fresh all the time.
