The Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation (FCEF) hosted an information session to discuss Fiji Development Bank’s (FDB) COVID-19 Recovery Credit Guarantee Scheme yesterday.

The session was led by the FCEF chief executive officer Kameli Batiweti and FDB CEO Saud Minam.

The scheme, is a Fijian Government-budget announced recovery scheme for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), as well as large businesses to assist them to meet their financial needs, and recover from economic losses, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

FDB recently announced that customers are able to apply for the COVID-19 Recovery Credit Guarantee Scheme online.

In an earlier interview, Mr Batiweti said that the Federation was working on a summary of issues and finding key focus areas through which they would reach out to relevant stakeholders to have another forum for MSMEs.

“The Federation is dedicated to ensuring we address the needs of all our members and especially those in the MSME sector that have felt the brunt of economic downturn caused by COVID-19.

“MSME recovery has been a key area of focus for the Federation amongst other work for the corporate sector that we have been involved in,” he said.
