Businessman and newly sworn in Government MP Sachida Nand says though he is not a seasoned politician he comes with an open mind.

On his first day in Parliament replacing former MP Mereseini Vuniwaqa, he said it was an honour and privilege to be in Parliament representing the people of Fiji.

“I come humbly as a person who is not perfect but learns for his mistakes, a person who has had his fair share of Ups and Downs,” Mr Nand said.

“However, I am also a person who knows how to pick himself up and press ahead, a person who has spent a considerable time with the people be it in the agricultural sector or in the small and medium enterprises through my association with other businesses or as a businessman myself.”

He said although the COVID-19 pandemic has greatly impacted citizens, the business community and society at large, the FijiFirst Government was forging ahead to put Fiji and its people first.

He thanked his supporters and family for their continued support in his endeavours especially his wife Sunita, son Anirudh and daughter Shesta.
