Power Outage Due To Burnt Electric Power Pole

Another uncontrollable cane fire has burnt one of our wooden power pole which supports EFL 33,000 volts transmission power line that transports power supply from the Waqadra Switching Station in Nadi to the Momi Substation.

The burnt power pole poses an eminent safety risk and needs to be urgently replaced.

In order for EFL to replace the burnt Power Pole, the power line has been isolated which is affecting our valued customers in the areas from part of Waqadra Nadi to Nawai Junction to Momi Marriot Resort.

The following areas are affected due to this power outage:
Nawai Junction, Savusavu Road, Savusavu Subdivision, New Momi Resort, Momi Subdivision, Nabila, Namata, Bavu, Lomawai, Korokula, Tau Village, Balabala, Uciwai, Yako, Sariyawa, Momi, Momi School,Ratu Nemani Memorial School, Momi Village, Nagaga/Nabila, Bau Village, J.W Church, Nawai, Nawai Secondary School, Nalovo, Jamal Timber, Uciwai Primary School, Nabila Village, Waibau, Nawaqadamu Village , Buruwa Mem. School, Uto Village, Camp Site, Fiji Pine, Vunamoli Village, Vagadra Village, Waireba, Loqi, Vodafone Repeater, Waste Water Natadola, Sanasana, Natadola Club House, Navisabasaba, North Project Storage Shed, Maintenance Yard, Pumping Station, Golf Maintenance, Semo Village, Navisabasaba, Melele, Malomalo Village, Naidiri Village, Part of Namaka, and Part of Waqadra.

 

EFL teams are currently working on replacing the burnt power pole amidst heavy rainfall.

Power supply to the affected areas and customers is expected to be restored by 6:00am, Thursday 2nd September 2021, weather permitting.

EFL requests members of the public to refrain from lighting fires in the vicinity of EFL infrastructure. Such fires cause unwanted power interruptions to our valued customers and is a safety risk.

EFL sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused to all our valued customers due to this emergency power outage.
