The company

“It began when I was let go due to the pandemic. Instead of sitting around complaining about being without a job, my wife and I had decided to do something about it,” Mr James said.

Mr James said he did a few odd jobs just to get the ball rolling, and for him, there is no job too small that would help him achieve his goals.

While attending school he worked at J Santa Ram Supermarket in Suva to earn money in order to support his studies.

“I admit I always have a flashback when I was given the marching orders by my former employer, but I am glad for all the support which helped me start my business,” he said.

He added that during the first wave of the pandemic it was difficult to get work.

“We decided to sell roti parcels. My wife wakes up early at 5am to make roti parcels and I leave home at 7:30am to sell them,” Mr James said.

Encouragement

He said he was encouraged by close friends such as businessman Chandra Narayan who is also the director of Cross Ocean Freight Logistic based at Lautoka.

“He inspired me to start my own business because I had work experience. I started my own debt collection agency,” he said.

“My aim is to further expand my business across the country as soon as the borders open.”
