Sharing compassion and care for those struggling during this pandemic is all the father’s day vibe that Simon Saul Shankaran would ask for.

While living away from his family in Nadi, the certified fitness coach and personal trainer amongst several roles, plans to continue his charity work for father’s day.

Charity work

Mr Shankaran along with his mates do charity work every month by delivering food packs to the homeless and fathers who are also on the streets.

He said seeing the smiles on the faces of those who have been helped through the charity work reminds him of his own upbringing.

“My parents separated so my mother has always been both my father and mother and I look up to her for everything I do.

“My mother played the role of father and she is an amazing person because she had the same strength to fill both parental roles for me and my siblings.

“Father’s day is about appreciating both mom and dad for bringing us into this world so we should adore and appreciate them both,” said Mr Shankaran.

Father’s day

He said father’s day is an opportunity to show all heads of household that they are appreciated and loved.

This father’s day, Mr Shankaran along with his mates plan to cook a meal, prepare food packs to deliver to the old people’s home and homeless fathers who may be on the streets.

Father’s day

He said it is always a proud moment to help others because it was a blessing.

“I am a father myself and while I will be away from my family, I continue to help those in need in whichever way possible.Either through my training programmes or charity work, just being helpful brings meaning to my life.

“Fathers are people who we look up to and Father’s day is like Christmas morning for them, sharing gifts in the morning and getting together over a special cooked meal,” said Mr Shankaran.

Mr Shankaran hopes to share a message of positive thinking and gratitude for father’s day and wishes a blessed father’s day to all families.
