Fijians In T14’s ‘Thick Of Things’

Strong running Fijian second five-eighth Adrea Cocagi scored a try to help Castres score a 34-30 win over Clermont in the second round of the French Top 14 competition yesterday.
Also making his debut for Castres on the wing was former Fijian 7s winger Josua Raisuqe.
It was close game with Castres coming from behind to grab the winning try to Kevin Kornath, in the 77th minute. This is Castres second win after they beat Pau 16-12 last weekend. The burly Cocagi, a rugby league, has claimed the spot from Olympian Vilimoni Botitu who was not in the Match 23 squad.
On a winning note
Fijian winger Josua Vici made his Top 14 debut for Montpellier as they walloped Brive 39-17.
Vici, who is after a spot in the Flying Fijians squad had a superb game along with Masivesi Dakuwaqa who was at openside flanker.
Brive’s two tries were scored by Flying Fijians hooker Peniami Narisia in the 14th minute and centre Sevanaia Galala in the 42nd minute.
Discipline had Montpellier got off to a good start of the season as they temporarily grab second place in the standings.
Olympian v Olympian
It was the battle of the wingers as Pau’s Aminiasi Tuimaba came off 21-17 winners over Lyon who brought in Josua Tuisova.
Pau, were reduced to 14 men for almost an hour, after Fijian backrower Lekima Tagitagivalu was red carded for a shoulder tackle in the 26th minute..
Veteran Fijian first five eight Ben Volavola came in the final 20 minutes to steer Racing 92 to a 23-10 win over La Rochelle.
Fijian- born France centre Virimi Vakatawa scored Racing’s first try while Eneriko Buliruarua came in as a late replacement for La Rochelle.
Meanwhile Henry Speight got a yellow as his club Biarritz went down 33-20 to Perpignan.
