61.9% Of Fijians Now Fully Vaccinated Against Covid-19

An announcement on the easing of curfew and containment border restrictions in Viti Levu will be made today by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services.
This follows the announcement by Permanent Secretary for Health and Medical Services Dr James Fong last night that 61.9 per cent of Fijians have been fully vaccinated.
Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama in a national announcement on August 22 said fully vaccinating 60% of the eligible population will result in the lifting of the containment area borders in Viti Levu and curfew to begin at 9pm.
Dr Fong said until a formal announcement is made today, all current measures remain in force.
“We are currently validating areas of concern and we will be outlining further measures to reduce the risk that travelers will place on these areas of concern,” Dr Fong said.
“We will also be reviewing other restrictions currently in place and a formal announcement will be made later today on the lifting of borders and other measures.”
