Top: Retired Deputy Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu, United Nations Police Commissioner South Sudan Unaisi Vuniwaqa and Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho. The Constitutional Officers Commission is meeting today to decide on the top posts for the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, the Fiji Police Force and the Fiji Corrections Services.

The posts of the RFMF Commander, Commissioner of Police, Commissioner of Corrections were advertised in January this year.

After applications were finalized four people were shortlisted and interviewed for the posts of RFMF commander.

The list includes current Commander Rear Admiral Viliame Naupoto, Director General for National Security and Defence Council Secretariat Brigadier General Jone Kalouniwai, Navy Commander Captain Humphrey Tawake and Land Force Commander Manoa Gadai.

 

There are currently 3,500 active soldiers and 6,000 reservists.

For the Fiji Police Force, current top cop Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho, former Deputy Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu, Chief of Intelligence, Investigation and Prosecution at the Fiji Police Force, Assistant Commissioner of Police Biu Matavou, retired officer Isei Raboiliku and the lone woman candidate Unaisi Vuniwaqa.

A decision is likely to be announced later today.
