An 18-year-old man was arrested from Khalsa Road for his alleged involvement in a robbery that left a woman injured on Saturday evening.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed the suspect had been arrested.

The alleged offence took place on Saturday September 11 outside the Prime Plaza in Nadera.

According to witness accounts, the woman left a pharmacy in the complex and was headed to her car when she was attacked by three men.

The woman was punched and kicked and her bag containing more than $700 in cash and her mobile phone was taken from her.

Witnesses said they rushed to the woman’s rescue, but the incident happened extremely fast, and the men were able to flee the scene.

In another case, which happened early this week, a woman in her sixties was robbed of more than $55,000 in cash.

Ms Naisoro confirmed the incident.

It is believed that the woman was entering her compound through the main gate when two men attacked her and fled with her bag.

Ms Naisoro said Police were searching for the men involved in the incident and have asked members of the public to step forward if they have any information that could lead to the arrest of the individuals involved in the robbery.
