COVID-19: 85 Infringement Notices Issued For Failing To Wear A Mask In A Public Place

Of the 129 Public Health Infringement Notices issued over the last 48-hours, 85 were issued for failing to wear a mask in a public place.

Seventy-seven PHINs were issued for failure to wear a mask in the Southern Division, 4 in the East and 4 in the West.

Breach of curfew recorded 40 reports with the Southern Division recording 20 cases.

Failure to wear a mask in a Public Service Vehicle accounted for 4 reports.

Majority of the bookings made for failure to wear a mask were as a result of negligence and disobedience.

Those booked were either improperly wearing their mask or had it in their possession but were not wearing it.

We continue to plead with Fijians to comply with COVID-safe measures at all times because they do save lives and offer protection to your family and loved ones.
