Fiji FA Suspects Fake Vax Cards

Fiji Football Association (Fiji FA) has sent the Ministry of Health and Medical Services five vaccination cards they suspect are fake.
Fiji FA chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf said they sent the cards to verify information contained on them, along with the application of a national team training camp.
“These vaccination cards have been sent to the Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Youth and Sports to forward to the Ministry of Health and Medical Services to ascertain the issue,” Mr Yusuf said.
“We have submitted a list of national team players who will be marching into camp, with approval of MoH.
“Any player not approved by MoH will go through a process as to what happened and then will be subjected to our internal disciplinary process.
“We are now waiting for the Ministry of Health to get back to us.
“Once we get a reply and feedback then we will take it further from there.
“The ministry needs to verify and confirm with us whether the five names we have submitted are okay or if there are some issues.”
Fiji FA has been working tirelessly towards a 100 per cent vaccination drive for players and officials in their plan to return to the field.
Mr Yusuf indicated the key part in having competitions was that anybody who enters the ground must be fully vaccinated.
“We’re getting all players to send in their vaccination cards. We have a database at our headquarters where we’re entering all vaccination details,” he said.
“It was there that we saw information on the cards did not tie up with the records we have.
“MoH has not come back, but once it does do the verification, they will let us know.”
Fiji FA hopes to resume the Digicel Premier League by the end of next month, pending MoH’s approval.
