Krishna To Maintain His Mark

Digicel Fiji and ATK Mohun Bagan captain Roy Krishna is continuing his great chapter of his football career.

This time he will lead his team against former winners FC Nasaf in the AFC Cup inter-zone semi-final in Uzbekistan today.

Since Kishna became the first Fijian to play in the AFC Cup run so far he has made three appearances so far, he has scored two goals and his shooting accuracy has been 67 per cent and his dribble rate has been 100 per cent.

ATK Mohum Bagan might be the underdogs in the match but have plenty of takent in their fold.

 

In an earlier interview he said that the match won’t be an easy one.

Krishna is one of the finest in the Indian super league and has scored twice in three AFC Cup group stage matches.

Krishna will be supported by Australia’s David Williams in the final third.

Manager Antonio Habas has also included Finnish midfielder Joni Kauko in the squad.

However, the Kolkata-based side will miss the services of star playmaker Hugo Boumous due to injury.

“It wasn’t an easy match so far but I’m so happy that we’ve qualified for the inter-zonal semi finals,” Krishna said.

“I’m proud of the lads for fighting against the odds and we hope to keep this fighting spirit and give our all for the next match. Thank you all for your love and blessing.”

 

The side based out of Kolkata, West Bengal has the services of Joni Kauko, Hugo Bousmas to name a few in their team.

Their opponents, FC NASAF finished fifth in the Uzbekistan Premier Football League in the last season.

The side will be banking on the services of Serbian nationals in the likes of Marko Stanojevic and Andrijia Kaluderovic. Striker Shernod Nasrullayev has the most assist in the Cup run.

 

Kuwait SC to face Muharraq SC in the AFC Cup west zonal final.

Kuwait beat Al Salt 2-0 in the semi-final, while Muharraq SC defeated Al Ahed FC 3-0.
